Travel Tuesdays: Delta First Class Meals JFK - ORD

I was in Chicago this weekend and miraculously was upgraded to first class both ways. I was not expecting it at all, and would have been more than happy with Comfort, especially since both flights were the tiny regional jets. Still I’m not complaining about First! I was excited just to get the bigger seats and alcohol (who doesn’t like free alcohol??) But I was surprised that I got a free meal, even on such a short trip. It’s the small things in life y’all.

I had an afternoon flight going to ORD and the lunch options were BBQ chicken sliders or Mojo chicken quinoa salad. I opted for the salad because I was pretending to be healthy.  I didn’t realize it came with avocado or I would have gotten the sliders. I made the best of it and ate what I could. The chicken was not dry at all, and had a decent flavor profile. The lemon cookie was nice and soft and I definitely could have eaten another one. Overall, thumbs up. We also got chocolate truffles for Veteran’s Day, which was a nice touch.

On the return trip, I had a morning flight so it was breakfast. The choice was ham and egg sandwich or Chex cereal. Almost everyone opted for the sandwich, and it did not disappoint. Good portion, nice and cheesy and I couldn’t tell if these were fake microwaved eggs or not. Another thumbs up from me.

The next few Travel Tuesday posts will be about my upcoming mileage runs. I’m going for the gold! Gold Medallion status anyway.
