Lately, I've been lazy and taking shortcuts when it comes to my nails. I still love having a fresh mani, but the time involved is sometimes too much. Especially since I do my nails myself. I turned to nail stickers in the past, but my newest nail addiction is glue on nails. It literally is an instant manicure with the least amount of time possible. They are even easier than the nail stickers. The only downside is that most of the glue on nails are too small for my fingers. I have wide and long nail beds. Sue me. I was glad the Kiss Gel Fantasy Nails had the sizes to fit me perfectly with no exposed nail underneath and the (M) length is perfect! Not too long so they interfere with typing, but not too short that it’s pointless to wear them. The Gel Fantasy set comes with nail glue as well as adhesive stickers. I'd already tried the Impress set from my summer Walmart Beauty Box, but they only came the adhesive stickers and were a smidgen too small and short, even with my nails cut all the way down. I was curious to try the Kiss version and see how it compared. Since they gave you the option on how you wanted to adhere these to your nails, you do have to put the stickers on the nails yourself. I think this is an important step not to rush (like I did) because it will alter the integrity of the adhesive strip. After doing my nails, and messing up a few where I had to lift off the nails and re-press them down. I could immediately tell - a) the adhesive is not as strong as the Impress and b) these felt very flimsy.
I honestly did not expect them to last more than 2 days with the strips. They did, however last 3.5 days before I took the strips off and glued the nails down. This was a much better option and felt much stronger. I was able to do all of my normal day to day tasks, as well as packing and shipping for work without any nails popping off. I also traveled, dragging my suitcase all over the place (the wheels broke!) and did booth set up for work with no issue. These were the best looking false nails I have ever used, and I got the most compliments on them. The only other set to rival these were the Nail Hur Nakey squalettos. I for sure would buy this same set/style again. But I would skip the strips and head straight for the glue.
I ended up loving them so much, I went out and bought a bunch of different Kiss nail sets to see how they held up to the original set I bought. I’ve been wearing Kiss nails for the past 5-6 weeks. I wear a new set a week, giving my nails 1-2 days to breathe before putting on a new set. I got round, stiletto and more squares from the Gel Fantasy as well as The Collection sets. I love the look of the square nails best, BUT they start to round off on my dominant hand after 3-4 days. It’s most noticeable on my thumb, index, and middle fingers. It’s not a deal breaker, but something to take note if you are using these for an event, to not put them on too far in advance. The round nails look more natural, but they don’t fit my nails as well. My nails have to be cut and filed to fingertip level to minimize the visibility under the nails. Same with the stilettos. I love the variety of designs though, and the ease of use. I will for sure continue to buy and use these. It cuts down on time and stress for me, especially with all the last minute things I have to do before travel. It’s one less thing to worry about on my plate. And best of all – no one can tell they’re glue on nails! :)
